Biochemistry is a course designed to take students to the next plateau in science.  Students will primarily be involved in labs that looks at the questions that Biology creates about our lives and answers them by using the techniques studied in chemistry.  Have you ever wondered how the life began?  Is there any way to create life in the same way it started millions of years ago? This course is designed to look at these greater life questions and use lab skills to explore solutions.   Biochemistry will cover topics such as Origin of Life, Thermodynamics and reactions, Respiration, Photosynthesis, Acids and Bases, Rate of reactions and more.  Students will gain the ability to answer their own student centered questions using proper research methods as well as look forward to continued success in Regents Chemistry the following year.
